Go Organic! Made of jute, this organic textile is becoming the sand additive of choice more and more in Germany because of its organic ingredient.
As a fiber, jute is biodegradable (it degrades biologically in 1 to 2 years) and compostable. In other words, disposing of jute does not come with a huge environmental impact.
Since jute is a plant-based fiber, it is eligible for organic certification from governmental organic certification agencies such as the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the European Union’s organic certification agency.  While jute absorbs water readily, it also dries quickly, and its rough fiber surface adheres well to the sand grains.
