FSGeoTEX geotextile synthetic sand additives for arena footing consist of polyester needle felt and fibers. Once the specific desired blend is determined, it is precisely blended during the manufacturing process. The selection of the right arena sand is imperative for best performance of the arena footing. For optimum choice, please send us a sand sample of your current sand. When building a new riding arena, we can assist you with the best sand selection, having a network of sand quarries throughout the US we are working with. Why should I use FSGeoTEX geotextile sand additives?

FSGeoTEX Geotextile sand additives refresh your existing sand or prolong the lifespan of your new sand. It gives your sand good cushioning while stabilizing the sand particles and helps retaining moisture in the arena footing.

What are the footing fibers made from?

5* Star Blend consists of nylon and polyester fibers/geotextiles, GoldTEX consists of premium polyester felt/fibers. Both products can be mixed with new sand, and are also ideal for mixing with existing sand.

How long does FSGeoTEX synthetic additive last?

The soft geotextile snippets of FSGeoTEX remain active as a cushioning agent for many years, unlike the stiff, thin green textiles or carpet fibers often used in other geotextile footings, which don’t add any cushioning and cannot hold and retain any moisture.

How much does FSGeoTEX synthetic footing additive cost?

The FSGeoTEX 5*STAR Blend and GoldTEX Premium Blends are $0.33 – $0.48 per square foot, depending on whether you are mixing with three or four inches of qualified sand for your riding surface.

How many lbs of FSGeoTEX synthetic sand additives do I need for my arena footing?

FSGeoTEX synthetic sand additives are not only competitively priced, but our blends are more cost-effective in the long-run, lasting significantly longer and requiring less material overtime to maintain your footing. Can I use less than the recommended amount of geotextile additives?

The amount of geotextiles/fibers depends on many factors: Depth of sand, type of sand, moisture content/watering. Coarser sands need a higher percentage of fibers:geotextile ratio to bind together, finer sands benefit from mainly geotextiles with a low fiber ratio adding cushion and stability to the sand.

What type of sand do I need?

Can the geotextile fibers be used in an existing arena?

Yes! FSGeoTex sand additives can be integrated into an existing arena. Proper installation and maintenance will ensure optimal results.

Can I use FSGeoTex footing indoors and outdoors?

Yes, the footing can be used both indoors and outdoors. It is designed to withstand various weather conditions and provides consistent performance in any environment, ensuring your arena maintains excellent traction, cushion, and stability regardless of its location.

Does FSGeoTex arena footing freeze in cold temperatures?

FSGeoTex prevents freezing up to 23 degrees F, or you can get our Hydro SandBinder treatment to replace water and prevent freezing altogether.

Do I need a special arena drag to maintain FSGeoTEX arena footing?

Your arena footing is only as good as it’s maintenance. You would need an arena groomer designed for geotextile arena footing with coil tines, adjustable height, leveling blade and lattice roller in the back.
